This is a complicated topics to be sure, but let’s just say there are a lot of assumptions made about introversion, depression, and anxiety. Believe me, I have tried to socialize myself many times, in many different ways. But few things make me happier than those who I have found that let me be because they either understand, or are just able to accept what I am. It helps. It’s not ignorant towards the issues I have, but rather a normalizing acceptance. They don’t point out what is and isn’t a problem, because they can understand that I know what my problems are- and that I am already pushing myself. What helps the most is that they have chosen to be friends with what I am now- not what they are trying to turn me into.
