PET Friendly PSA for the Fourth of July

Hi guys- Just a small PSA for those celebrating the 4th of July-
If you have, or will be around pets during this time, please be extra aware and vigilant with watching them. As many pet owners already know, all the craziness can cause many animals to become startled- some even bolt merely out of fear, when they get a chance. Many pets go missing around this time of year. It is an extremely unfortunate side effect of all that fun napalm stuff that goes on, that is often surrounded by large, busy, drunk crowds and traffic. And if your pet is showing signs of fear- respect their behavior and try not to force them into situations where they feel scared and unsafe. Be aware also of potential burn and poison issues as well!! Let’s not lose any furry, feathered, scaled, hooved (and anything else in between) friends over napalm or negligence this year.
Have fun!

Heros of Lunch

Finished this up a couple weeks ago. It was an interesting project for me because coloring images hasn’t been a forte of mine. Kind of (but not really) a bit odd, because I’m great at mixing, matching (and naming!) colors- aced all those color theory classes.

Anyways, this was a lot of fun, if not a bit of a challenge to myself. I started this without having any expectations because, as I’ve mentioned, I’m working on just letting go of creative stress as much as I can. I think this is the first time in my life where my movements stay completely consistent when I’m working, because I’m not stressing, or pausing out of fear or tension with my work. This in turn has allowed me to enjoy being creative in a much more meditative way. Beyond just being able to relax more, I’m finding that I’m much more able to draw expressively, because I’m not having to listen to the voice in my head that tells me that I should fix this, or that, or what something should look like, even if I like the way something looks just the way it is.
