Heros of Lunch

ENTERTHEHERO-FIN

Finished this up a couple weeks ago. It was an interesting project for me because coloring images hasn’t been a forte of mine. Kind of (but not really) a bit odd, because I’m great at mixing, matching (and naming!) colors- aced all those color theory classes.

Anyways, this was a lot of fun, if not a bit of a challenge to myself. I started this without having any expectations because, as I’ve mentioned, I’m working on just letting go of creative stress as much as I can. I think this is the first time in my life where my movements stay completely consistent when I’m working, because I’m not stressing, or pausing out of fear or tension with my work. This in turn has allowed me to enjoy being creative in a much more meditative way. Beyond just being able to relax more, I’m finding that I’m much more able to draw expressively, because I’m not having to listen to the voice in my head that tells me that I should fix this, or that, or what something should look like, even if I like the way something looks just the way it is.

So It’s Been a Month…

IMG_1996-2

A month’s worth of speech bubbles. Yes, I’m a freak and saved them all.

I had no idea I was going to be working on creative projects, at all, at the beginning of last month… It had been bothering me, for years, that I was so stagnant, just working (service) and not producing. I had a random idea one morning and that day I went out and did it. It was fun…. So uh, yeah, I’m still going at it these dumb food comics, and so much more I that hadn’t expected myself to muster up the courage for.

Check out the super random idea that started it all:

Thanks all- see you again later!
